BELOW ARE MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEETING Aug 3rd 2010
Mary Ellen Smith chaired the meeting and the following topics were discussed:
1. What to Do?
The majority of attendees indicated they liked the 3-day reunion idea since that would give classmates a chance to attend at least one if not all the events. The cruise idea did not get many votes. A few classmates will gather price/availability etc. And report back to the committee as follows: MINUTES OF CLASS REUNION MEETING AUG 3, 2010
12 classmates gathered to begin plans for our 50th reunion. this is the big one and we hope everyone will try to come. Graduation DAY WAS JUNE 11,1961. We would like to do a 3 day event again. everyone who came last time seemed to enjoy it. Friday night a welcome party at Mary Ellen's Saturday, Dinner and dancing. Sunday barbecue at Ray's Date to be determined, Sometime in September or October When would you like to come?????? LE US KNOW OR WE WILL SET THE DATE. Dinner is being researched, possibilities Winnettu in Katama Harbor view Farmneck Boathouse field club, Katama Estimated cost $100.00 per person. How much are YOU WILLING TO SPEND?? We need to hear from you by Sept 1,
Other Considerations from previous meeting
2. Should we plan beyond the 50th?
It was decided that we would discuss this at a later date; but that more than likely we will plan something in 5 years.
3. Should we continue to pay for our dot.com site so that all classmates can access Information?

4. Time to start/end the Dinner/Dance?
Because we are older now, it was decided that the dinner/dance should start and end earlier than previous years. If all agree, dinner will start around 5, with dancing from 7-9. Best month to hold reunion September, October.
5. How much would we be willing to pay?
Since this is the "BIG" one, we would like it to be special. A poll of attendees
Indicated that between $75 and $100 per person would be acceptable.
6. Should we have momentos/souvenirs of this reunion?
- Coffee Mugs with MVRHS 1961 in Purple and White?
- T-Shirts?
- Sweatshirts?
- Ballcaps? Hats?
- Other ideas?
We would like feedback and any other ideas you may have as soon as possible. It takes a long time to coordinate availability of dates/times, purchases, etc.
